Yann Pauchon Takes Heads-Up Crown at the 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau

Yann Pauchon won the seventh side event of the 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau when he came out on top in the DafaPoker No Limit Hold’em Heads Up Survival Event.
The one-on-one elimination tournament ended with a final match between Pauchon and Igor Antropov to decide the winner of the trophy and the top cash prize of HK $38,734. On the final hand, Pauchon and Antropov both went all-in, with Pauchon’s pocket sevens holding up against Antropov’s pocket fours.
When asked earlier about what he planned to do during the tournament, Pauchon said that his strategy was to play passively and selectively, picking his spots and then capitalizing when he got the opportunity. It worked for him as he took the top honors in the tournament.
The 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau will be held at the StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Macau from August 12 to 23, 2009. Buy-in for the main event is set at HK $32,000 + $2,400.
