Quinn Do Defends His Title at the Asian Poker Tour Macau’s Celebrity Charity Tournament

Proving that skill is always a factor in poker tournaments, Quinn Do won the Poker King Celebrity Charity Challenge at the Asian Poker Tour Macau for the second year in a row.

With Corwin Cole going all-in during their heads-up match-up, Quinn instantly called and tabled A-10, which clearly dominated Cole’s 5-7. The flop brought no help for either player, making Do the event’s back-to-back champion.  The third placer was fellow Poker Pack member Nam Le, who came second in the High Rollers event earlier during the day.

Once again, though, the big winner of the night was local charity Caritas Macau, which received a donation from the Asian Poker Tour worth MOP 100,000.

The Poker King Celebrity Charity Challenge featured celebrities, famous poker pros, and VIPs from all over the world. Aside from the top three finishers, the participants included The Poker Pack members JC Tran and David “Chino” Rheem, Liv Boeree, Liz Lieu, Theo Tran, Tommy Le, Johnny Chan, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Michael Wong, Zack Rosenberg, Cecilia Nordenstam, and Tila Tequila. In addition, there were a host of local celebrities and models in the game as well as the actors involved in the Poker King movie.

The 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau will be held at the StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Macau from August 12 to 23, 2009. Buy-in for the main event is set at HK $32,000 + $2,400.
