Philipp Gruissem Wins the Dafa888 Side Event at the 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau

Philipp Gruissem navigated through a field of 42 players to claim the Dafa888 No Limit Hold’em event at the 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau.
At a final table that lasted for hours, the German poker player finally took control and then eliminated runner-up John Aufdemkampe when his J-10 paired with a 10 on the board to beat out Aufdemkampe’s A-9. For winning the event, Gruissem was awarded HK $117,750 and the trophy while Aufdemkampe won HK $64,200.
The tournament, which ended at almost 2:30 in the morning, capped an action-packed day at the Asian Poker Tour Macau. Earlier during the day, the High Rollers and Heads Up championships were decided, while the welcome event and Poker King Celebrity Charity Challenge also took place.
The 2009 Asian Poker Tour Macau will be held at the StarWorld Hotel and Casino in Macau from August 12 to 23, 2009. Buy-in for the main event is set at HK $32,000 + $2,400.
